Team Trans Sport has partnered with Renewable Choice Energy to offset 100% of the team’s emissions in 2007 with clean, renewable wind energy. Team Trans Sport is Powered By Wind.

Team Trans Sport is committed to reducing our environmental impact as much as possible. To this end, we are one of the first teams in the history of the sport to partner with a renewable energy credit provider like Renewable Choice Energy, which will provide energy offsets for 100% of the team’s carbon signature. Although we still burn gasoline and diesel, we can make a difference. The offsets being provided to Team Trans Sport will help to make wind energy projects more economically feasible, thus fostering a source of clean power for America’s future. Until we are racing electric cars, hydrogen cars, or some other zero impact technology, Team Trans Sport will endeavor to find creative ways to reduce our impact on the earth. We urge our fellow racers to do the same.

FACTS:

• Team Trans Sport’s Offset will prevent 444,146 pounds of C02 from being released into the atmosphere.

• That is equivalent to NOT driving a car 484,875 miles, or effectively taking 39 cars off the road permanently.

• It would take 59 acres of trees to soak up that much C02 in one year.

• Our Offset will provide funding for 319,070 kWh of clean energy.
