TIM PAPPAS
Tim Pappas’ road to professional racing began with karting at the age of 12. Two years later he moved to club-level motocross competition at the Milford Rider’s Club in Milford, CT. A trip to Bondurant School of High Performance Driving at age 16 led Pappas into the world of car racing. Shortly after, he began racing with various car clubs throughout the Northeast, participating in over 300 individual club-racing events. In late 2000 Tim made the jump to professional racing and has since contested the Grand Am Cup series in a BMW M3 prepared by Franz Blam Racing, select Grand Am Rolex Series races in a BMW prepared by Bell Motorsports, World Challenge Touring Car races in a Lexus IS 300 engineered by Jim Bell, and a BMW 330i engineered by championship-winning Turner Motorsport. In 2003 Pappas narrowly missed Rookie of The Year in World Challenge by only two points, but went on to score his first pro win at Watkins Glen for Turner Motorsport the following year. Since Pappas’ first full pro season in 2001, he has been on the podium an impressive 8 times in 45 starts. However more impressive is the fact that he has produced top ten finishes in more than 50% of his races—23 times out of 45 starts. Pappas has gone from strength to strength with top co-drivers like Borcheller and Fitzgerald and will continue his success on the track in the GT2 Class at Le Mans.
