TERRY BORCHELLER

In a sport where only absolute precision will suffice, Terry Borcheller is nothing less than the ideal component for the machine that is Team Trans Sport Racing. Not only does he bring a win rate that is practically unmatched in the world of sports car racing, but more than 80% of his wins have been in Bell Motorsport-engineered racecars. And just as Fitzgerald and Pappas have a solid working relationship, Borcheller provided coaching to Pappas that proved instrumental in helping Pappas hone his skills during the World Challenge Series.

Borcheller’s rise through the racing world has been one of record speed. Born in Hialeah Florida in 1966 to a family that has been ensconced in racing for over 50 years, he began racing go-karts at age 13 and clinched the national title at age 17. From there, he went on to score 11 wins in the Barber Formula Ford Series before moving from open wheel racers to sports cars. In his 1998 season, Terry won 11 times in 23 starts, securing championship titles in two separate series.

Now with a total of 57 wins and counting, he is widely considered to be a top driver in all three aspects of testing, development, and racing — a rarefied mix for any driver across the globe. There simply is not another world-class driver out there as highly-skilled and as perfectly suited for this team than Terry Borcheller.
